One of the things that I've noticed about fashion trends during recent years is that a lot of the old school styles are back. As people now say, "old-fashioned fashion is back!". It is true. A lot of very famous stores are now carrying and keeping up with this new trend direction.

One of the stores that came up in recent years by taking advantage of this phenomenon is urban outfitters. They are absolutely incredible with their selection of vintage clothing. I live in New York, which may be one of the reasons why I thought so many people (from the village) have gotten so into this trend. Then again I went ahead to look at larger and a more mainstream store like H&M and found that they too now have a wide selection of vintage style clothing.

I remember my mother purchased an entire closet full of clothing from the 80's years back (come to think of it, it may have been purchased in the 80's). I wasn't thinking about wearing them obviously, high-rise jeans and whatnot. I put them on eBay and it was shocking how quickly they sold and for the prices the auctions were reaching. I was wondering who in their right minds would be purchasing these in the 21st century. Little did I know at time, it was a large proportion of the American women population.

I also picked up a few cocktail dresses and maxi dresses from the early 90's and a bunch of vintage dresses. Some were worn, some weren't. I actually considered opening my own fashion boutique with the amount of dresses I had.

So this is my take on the 2013 fashion trend. I think we're still continuing our movement towards the vintage clothing as if we were traveling back in time. This has been ongoing for several years now and it is continuing to increase in popularity.

I have also noticed a lot more dress boutiques coming up in the neighborhood. Dress boutiques are different from large department stores, because they usually specialize in only dresses and sometimes only a certain style of dresses. Then I started taking a closer look at what people were wearing out these days. It's December and everybody is still wearing dresses! So I guess the seasons aren't as much of a factor nowadays when it comes to wearing a dress. The wearing of dresses have been increasing as well (as far as I've noticed).
